More summer 2015

Back from nearly four weeks in Europe, performing and teaching at the International Association of Schools of Jazz workshop in Lisbon, the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg, and JGU University in Mainz, Germany.  Also had the opportunity to connect with a number of former students, including Paul Roth who lives in Berlin and Angela Space, now living and teaching in the UK. It’s was also great to hear all the French legends in Strasbourg, and to meet and hang with some players I heretofore had not known about, including Jean Charles Richard and Baptiste Herbin, two extraordinary French jazz saxophonists.  Many thanks the Philippe Geiss for the unbelievable job he did in putting this congress together and for his great playing and composing on many of the programs. An amazing guy, indeed!

Time to get revved up for school in the fall – lots coming up including taking a stab at being Stan Getz in a performance of Eddie Sauter’s Focus  with the Mancini Institute Orchestra.

More later…
